Unable to chalk it up to an error, Jason does the unthinkable. But the truth he discovers is a heavier burden to carry than the innuendo that was eating him alive. Now the tables are turned and he’s left holding a smoking gun. An innocent wife. A desperate husband. A no-win situation. When the smoke clears, will their marriage survive?

It triggers dreams of future events. When one shows a devastating terrorist attack, everyone ignores his frantic warnings. Thousands die. Suddenly, the Feds are pounding on his door and the name they have for Taylor isn’t urban hero. It’s enemy combatant. And, it means they can do anything they want to him. Anything at all.
March Into Hell: Book Two – Mark Taylor’s life takes a dark turn when his heroism becomes the subject of a newspaper article. The media attention and a harrowing encounter while saving a young woman, puts him in the sights of the ruthless cult leader who covets the secret to Mark’s power. Battling his own self-doubt, he must maintain the secret or risk certain death.

Charity Medford is a diamond of the first water, sought after by every gentleman in London—though her increasingly wild behavior has put her reputation in jeopardy. What London’s gentlemen don’t know is that Charity’s frenetic social pace is not designed to win her a husband, but to keep her too busy to dwell on her haunting past. But when one reckless evening lands her in a compromising position with a marriage-minded Scottish earl, Charity is really in trouble…
Graeme Ramsey Maxwell, Earl of Leventhal, senses what few others do: Charity’s need for something solid to hold on to. Graeme decides he’s just the man to offer what this tempestuous English beauty needs—but he has no idea that by hauling her off to his highlands home, he’s inviting a legion of trouble to follow them.

What if you killed someone and then fell in love with them? In an alternate Renaissance world, somewhere in an imaginary “pocket” of Europe called the Kingdom of Lethe, Death comes, in the form of a grim Spaniard, to claim his Bride. Until she is found, in a single time-stopping moment all dying stops. There is no relief for the mortally wounded and the terminally ill….
Covered in white cobwebs of a thousand snow spiders she lies in the darkness… Her skin is cold as snow… Her eyes, frozen… Her gaze, fiercely alive…While kings and emperors send expeditions to search for a suitable Bride for Death, armies of the undead wage an endless war… A black knight roams the forest at the command of his undead father…
Spies and political treacheries abound at the imperial Silver Court…. Murdered lovers find themselves locked in the realm of the living…Look closer–through the cobweb filaments of her hair and along each strand shine stars…And one small village girl, Percy–an unwanted, ungainly middle daughter–is faced with the responsibility of granting her dying grandmother the desperate release she needs.
As a result, Percy joins the crowds of other young women of the land in a desperate quest to Death’s own mysterious holding in the deepest forests of the North…And everyone is trying to stop her.

Amazon : Kindle Book Review - One Thousand Dollars A Word - Digitpedia Blog
I like to read short stories when I can. They are perfect for a spare 15 minutes. My latest find was a free ebook titled ‘One Thousand Dollars A Word’, written by an author called Lawrence Block. Here is a quick review.
I found the book in the best sellers section, in the humour category. At the time I downloaded there was no cost. However checking it at the time of writing this now the price is £1.91 (but please check the listing for the price right now as it may have changed again). Given it’s such a short book that is slightly disappointing.
This is what the book cover looks like on my tablet.

My Review
At only 9 pages long this story is a quick read. Ideal whilst you are on your commute to work or waiting for dinner to be ready! I don’t want to put any spoilers in this post so I will keep it short and sweet.
Sometimes categorisation in the kindle book store can be a bit dodgy. So when I started reading this I was unsure whether what I was reading was going to be funny. This story is indeed a humorous tail. There are no funny lines during the telling, all the laughs come in one swoop, at the end when the last paragraph is read.
It is a simple story that anybody will be able to read. It has two characters. A writer, and an editor. The storyline follows the frustrations of the writer at the pay he receives for his work. The story is very easy to follow and the ending certainly made me chuckle.
As freebies go I always think it is good to keep your expectations low. But I did enjoy this one. It is a shame at the time of writing this the book is no longer free, if it becomes available again at no cost I certainly recommend downloading it even if you don’t normally like this sort of thing.
However if you do really like light-hearted short stories I would recommend this as a read. However the whole book is only 16 pages long, the actual story if only 9 long, so you will be done and dusted with it in no time. Whether that justifies paying even a low price is up to you. But I probably wouldn’t given it is only a ‘read once’ type of book. But regardless of price that shouldn’t take away this is a lovely written piece of work.
To look for this and other books head over to the kindle book store to get downloading. Happy reading.
